Answers :
1. Rs. 2340.
2. Rs. 11 and Rs. 121.
3. 6.25.
4. 2 years.
1. Explanation:
Let Rohan′s share = x.
Kamla′s share = y.
Arjun′s share = z.
⇒ 2x = 3y
y = ( 3 / 2 )x
⇒ 3x = 4z
z = ( 4 / 3 )x
x : y : z = 1 : ( 2 / 3 ) : ( 3 / 4 )
= 12 : 8 : 9
Arjun′s Share = ( 9 * 7540 ) / 29
= Rs. 2340
∴ Arjun′s share in the total profit is Rs. 2340.
2. Explanation:
Banker′s Discount = ( True Discount )2 / Present Worth
= Rs. [ ( 110 )2 / 1100 ]
= Rs. [ ( 110 * 110 ) / 1100 ]
= Rs. 11
Banker′s Discount = ( True Discount + Banker′s Gain )
= Rs. ( 110 + 11 )
= Rs. 121
∴ The banker′s discount and the banker′s gain are Rs. 11 and Rs. 121.
3. Explanation:
Run Rate = 4.2
Runs scored in the first 15 overs = ( 15 * 4.2 )
= 63
Total runs = 282
Remaining runs to be scored = ( 282 – 63 )
= 219
Remaining overs = 35
Run rate needed = ( 219 / 35 )
= 6.25
∴ The run rate will be 6.25.
4. Explanation:
Simple Interest = ( Principal * Time * Rate ) / 100
Pricipal = Rs.500
Rate = 5 %
Simple interest = Rs.50
Time = ( Simple Interest * 100 ) / (Principal * Rate )
Time = ( 50 * 100 ) / ( 500 * 5 ) years
= 10 / 2
= 2 years
∴ Time taken is 2 years.
